Steel Building Frame Options
Frame Options for Metal Buildings
One of the most important aspects of designing steel framed buildings is determining which frame style best suits the needs of that particular structure. The frame type chosen for a specific building will depend significantly on its intended end-use application. The size of the steel frame building being constructed can also play a significant role in determining which frame style best suits your design.
At Heritage Building Systems, we will work with you to determine the best frame type, building specifications, and the intended use of the completed steel frame building.
Frame Types
- Clear Span - One of the most common frame types available, clear span metal buildings provide large, open interior areas by using a column-free design.
- Modular - Typically used for wider buildings, steel frame buildings using the modular frame type use interior columns to more evenly distribute the load carried on the frame.
- Single Slope - Steel framed buildings with this frame type use different eave heights on each side of the building, resulting in a roof that slopes downward from front to back.
- Auxiliary - In addition to the three main types of steel framed buildings Heritage offers, we also support the unique frame requirements of the industrial and manufacturing industries through auxiliary frame types such as lean-to structures, crane and mechanical support, and mezzanines.
