Technical Information
We use a 6" I-Beam column that bolts to a 12" I-Beam rafter.
The rafters have purlin clips welded to the top of them. We use a 6" purlin
which bolts down on top of the rafters. We have a heavy "cee" channel
that bolts to the bottom of the rafter and hangs straight down. Bolted
onto this channel, we have what is called a ceiling rafter. The ceiling
rafter has clips welded onto it 2' on center. We bolt our ceiling joists
to these clips. Our ceiling joists are 6", 16 gauge "zees" that
sheet rock attaches to. All of the above is the "red iron" portion
of the home.
In
between the I-Beam columns, we use a 6" metal
stud. These are 18 gauge studs so they are
very strong and are not considered light gauge.
The studs are spaced 16 " on center. The roof covering
is a colored ‘R' panel.
This goes on over the radiant barrier insulation,
and is attached to the roof purlins. No plywood
decking goes under it, so that the roof system
is non-combustible. We also include colored
eave and gable trim. The peak is fully vented.
The wall covering is a steel wood grain siding
that looks like horizontal lap wood, board
siding. The siding comes in 12'-6" lengths,
8" tall. Each piece is 8" tall but
looks like two 4" boards. The soffit panels
under the overhangs are included and are vented.
No sheathing board is necessary under our siding
so that is non-combustible.

Energy Efficient Insulation
On
the outside of the roof framing and the outside of the wall framing,
we include a low-e radiant barrier/moisture barrier insulation
wrap. This is to stop the thermal conductivity, or the hot and
cold, from traveling through the steel. It stops 97% of the radiant
heat penetration during the summer and 97% of the radiant heat
loss during the winter. The homes still need conventional insulation,
such as blanket fiberglass or blown-in insulation. |

Architectural Ribbed Panel Roof System
This is the ideal roof system for your home. It's attractive, maintenance
free, weather tight, and easy to install. Our heavy 26 gauge
steel panels outperform asphalt shingles in hail storms and strong
winds. There is no need for a wood decking under the panels so
our roof system is fire and termite proof. The system includes
a vented soffit, vented ridge cap, and a complete trim package. |

Steel Wood Grain Siding
It
was an easy choice when we selected our recommended wood grain
steel siding for its tough, durable, and maintenance free finish.
The average person can install it themselves. It's long lasting,
weather tight, an never needs painting. Steel siding's performance
against hail, wind and rain is unsurpassed. With your Heritage
All Steel Home, there is no need for a wood sheathing board under
the siding. Therefore, your walls are fire and termite proof.
Of course our home packages are available without siding for
brick, stucco, or other siding products. |
